Scholar · Author · Educator · Life Coach · Professional Fellow Dr. Fang Miao is a New York–based women’s leadership and resilience coach, author, and nonprofit executive whose work elevates the lived realities of Asian women—especially the cultural constraints, stereotyping, discrimination, and pressure to stay silent that can limit personal agency and safety. She is the Founder and President of the Association for the Protection of Asian Women in America (PAWA), where she leads mission-driven strategy, governance, and community programming designed to strengthen self-protection awareness, expand support networks, and empower Asian women and families to thrive. PAWA has collaborated with Harvard Business School, MIT and Cornell University on programs to drive transformation by individuals and organizations.
Recognized for her public voice and advocacy, Dr. Miao received a Bronze Stevie Award for Thought Leadership of the Year at the 2024 American Business Awards. With a Doctor of Business Administration and a foundation in coaching and communication training, Dr. Miao brings both academic rigor and practitioner depth to her work.
