PAWA Co-Hosts UN CSW70 Parallel Event on Advancing Women’s Justice and Leadership

PAWA (Protection of Asian Women in America) was honored to co-host the NGO CSW70 Parallel Event, “Building Equitable Futures: Women’s Justice and Leadership,” in collaboration with the Women Empowerment & Leadership Alliance (WomenELA) at the United Nations.

The event convened an inspiring group of women leaders, scholars, and community advocates from diverse backgrounds to engage in meaningful dialogue. Participants shared insights, experiences, and actionable strategies aimed at advancing women’s empowerment and strengthening pathways toward equity and inclusion.

Through dynamic discussions, the forum highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration in addressing systemic challenges and fostering sustainable impact for women and girls globally.

PAWA extends its sincere appreciation to all distinguished speakers and participants whose contributions made this dialogue both impactful and inspiring.

PAWA and T.E.A.L.

On June 24, 2024, six members of the Protection of Asian Women in America (PAWA) of New York City participated in T.E.A.L.®’s weekly morning meditation at Prospect Park in Brooklyn and then visited our T.E.A.L.® Community Center to explore collaboration opportunities and educational initiatives for their members. We had the opportunity to educate their members on the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, as well as share our ovarian cancer awareness cards, which are available in multiple languages. It was great to learn about PAWA, which is dedicated to empowering women with self-awareness and personal growth through advocacy, support services, community education, and philanthropic events.

The American Business Awards gala dinner was held on June 11 in Manhattan, New York. As the President of The Association for the Protection of Asian Women in America, Dr. Fang Miao received the Bronze Award for Thought Leadership of the Year. The gala dinner was a spectacular event with a dazzling array of winners from different industries shining brightly.

Professors, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and business owners from Harvard Business School convened to engage in discussions and offer platforms for exceptional graduates to present their business ventures.
